Nick Kyrgios' fines at 2022 US Open climb over $15,000 already

At the 2022 US Open, Nick Kyrgios received already three fines and so the total amount of the fines he has to pay climbed over $15,000.

The 27-years-old Australian is attempting to reach back-to-back Grand Slam finals and he's only two matches away from doing that. In the quarterfinals, he will take on Karen Khachanov, one day after he crashed out from doubles with his partner Thanasi Kokkinakis.

For reaching the quarterfinals in singles, Nick Kyrgios earned $445,000 and for the third round in doubles, he earned $28,200. However, during the seven matches he played in singles and doubles combined, her also received three fines.

One of the fines came in the match against Benjamin Bonzi when he spat on the court and afterwards, received the biggest fine of this tournament so far - $7,500. He received one more fine in one of the doubles matches which equalled to $4,000 and another $4,000 fine was given to the Australian during his 4th round match against world number 1 Daniil Medvedev.

It came when the Australian was frustrated with his serve, screaming: “Tell me where to f***ing serve,” Kyrgios screamed. “F***ing three times. Say something. F***ing hell.”
