Boris Becker did not like the latest comments made by Nick Kyrgios, and he made sure that his opinion would be heard.
Recently, the Australian tennis player has been quite active in the media space, even announcing the launch of his new OnlyFans profile. He's made many interesting statements, but one wasn't appreciated by former world no. 1 on the ATP Tour, Boris Becker.
When comparing the previous generations and the current players, Kyrgios claimed that Novak Djokovic would destroy the majority of previous generations, mentioning Boris Becker's name along the way.
The German coach saw his comments, and didn't really appreciate them. He took to X (formerly Twitter) and hit back at Kyrgios, who according to him doesn't have "any credibility" since he hasn't won a Grand Slam title in his career, apart from the 2022 Australian Open doubles triumph.
"Nick makes a lot of noise about tennis lately!?! Why does he speak about a sport he apparently hates …fact-check Nick has never won a major championship as a player or coach( yes doubles 1) so where is any credibility coming from?"
"Trying to compare generations… Laver v Federer , Borg v Nadal , Sampras v Djokovic!?! I am not even gonna mention McEnroe, Connors, Lendl Agassi, Courier, Edberg, Wilander, Kuerten, Bruguera, Rafter, Hewitt, and many more …speak to your @OnlyFans about many things but tennis!"
Seemingly, only a few minutes after posting quite assertive statement, the German coach changed the tone and wished the 2022 Australian Open doubles champion a speedy recovery and good luck in his tennis career.
"I wish Nick a speedy full recovery and can’t wait to see him back on a tennis court! He is an exciting player when he is fit ! He has got a Grand Slam in his bag but you have to do the talking on the court ….good luck!"
