Nadal Will Give Djokovic 'Some Heat' On His Comeback In 2024 Says Former Federer's Coach

Former player and coach of Roger Federer, Ivan Ljubicic, is excited about Rafael Nadal's comeback at the 2024 Australian Open, hoping to see Nadal push Novak Djokovic slightly.

The matches between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have always been quite heated and competitive. They are rivals, with Djokovic considering Nadal his greatest rival.

He pushed him to become the best possible version, and the Serbian gives him credit for helping him that way. Nadal's absence in 2023 will make his comeback to tennis even more interesting.

While it's unrealistic to assume that Nadal will give Djokovic trouble, it is possible. Clay might be the surface where he's the likeliest to do so, and by the time it rolls around, he'll hopefully be playing for a while.

That time will allow him to get rid of the rust and find his best tennis just in tennis for Roland Garros. Ivan Ljubicic certainly hopes Nadal gives Djokovic some heat so we get a glimpse of their old legendary battles.

I think the most successful one is definitely Novak, at least on the male side. He keeps winning, he is not stopping and I am really curious and I will love to see Rafa back in 2024 to give him some heat.

As Ljubicic said, Djokovic is the best player on the men's side and 2023 saw him dominate largely unopposed. Nadal could bring some heat to that battle, but he'll also face some of the rising youngsters.

It could be quite a tough year for Djokovic, but Ljubicic is not worried. As well as he knows Djokovic, it still amazes him how good he actually is.

Novak is incredible. I mean, when you look at the way he is playing now and you look at 10 years ago, you will see the same person, which is remarkable, knowing how old he is.
