Tennis legend Martina Navratilova recently showered Carlos Alcaraz with praise because of his "complete" game.

It's no secret that Alcaraz has achieved a lot in his young career so far that his contemporaries can only dream of. However, one of the things that stands out is not just his accomplishments on the court but also his playing style.

The Spaniard is one of the most exciting young talents to watch on the men's tour. Even former World No. 1 Andy Murray revealed that he loves to watch him play. He has enjoyed a meteoric rise since bursting to prominence as a 16-year-old at the Rio Open in 2020.

At 20, Alcaraz has already won two Grand Slams and five Masters 1000 titles. As he heads to this year's Madrid Open to defend his crown from 12 months ago, he is one of the favorites.

The Murcia native has been compared to tennis legends such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. Several analysts believe that Alcaraz embodies the traits of all three of the sport's most decorated champions.

Navratilova, a trailblazer and icon in tennis, is also one of the most knowledgeable pundits. During the Laureus Sports Awards night in Madrid, the Czech-American former pro explained what makes Alcaraz a special talent. She called the young champion a "complete" player who "takes tennis to a different level."

"I have to say that Carlos (Alcaraz) is so complete. Djokovic is incredible, but Alcaraz takes tennis to a different level because he improvises better than anyone else."

The 67-year-old then referred to last year's Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and the Spaniard as "one of the most exciting matches" she has ever seen. Alcaraz famously ended Djokovic's reign as four-time defending champion in a pulsating five-set win.

"Wimbledon has given us matches for history, but I think last year’s final between Alcaraz and Djokovic was the most exciting I have ever seen."
