Novak Djokovic seems to be very motivated for his match against Novak Djokovic at the 2022 World Tennis League.
Kyrgios and Djokovic have already met this year. The two played for the third Grand Slam title of the season when they met in the final of the Wimbledon Championships.
The Australian player was able to win the first set before Djokovic won the next three to lift his 21st Grand Slam title. Now, they are both set to compete at the 2022 World Tennis League in Dubai, which will run from December 19th to 24th.
It's a team competition in which 18 players will be split into four teams, competing over the course of six days at the Coca-Cola Arena.
Kyrgios was drawn into The Eagles team alongside Bianca Andreescu, Caroline Garcia, Rohan Bopanna, and Andreas Seppi. Djokovic, on the other hand, should play in The Falcons with Grigor Dimitrov, Aryna Sabalenka, and Paula Badosa.
Currently, the Australian is scheduled to play against Felix Auger-Aliassime on the opening day. Then, he should meet Djokovic in their meeting with The Falcons, and on the last day of the round-robin stage, Kyrgios should take on Alexander Zverev from The Hawks.
Although it's only an exhibition, it's clear that Kyrgios is motivated for these matches, especially his meeting with Djokovic.
"I cannot wait to be part of the WTL. As you all know, I thrive and have so much fun in a team environment. I can't wait to meet my team and see what we can accomplish during that week."
"An event like this for the fans is so important for fan interactions, and the ability to see female and male athletes come together is really, really cool. The team, for me, that has my eye is definitely Novak and The Falcons. I can't wait to come up against that team, and I guarantee an Eagle win."
