Taylor Fritz made a lot of Americans happy by lifting the Delray Beach Open trophy and he thanked the crowd for their support.
Fritz played in Delray Beach several times in his career and it's an event he always enjoys attending. This year's edition left a particular mark on him because the stands were packed and the crowd heavily supported him. Winning the trophy probably also helped.
My first time back here in quite a while and the event was amazing. The fans especially, the turnout was incredible and it makes me really proud to be an American playing at a home event, with how many people were in the stands.
Kecmanovic nearly stumbled in the final as he lost the second set despite having match points. He noted that in his speech after saying how he generally didn't have too much success up until this year which makes it more special.
This year was incredible after losing in the first and second round [almost] every single year I'd been here. I couldn't be happier with coming back and having this result.
