Nick Kyrgios has always been open and true to who he is, and recently, he divulged his relationship with Costeen Hatzi.
Kyrgios opted not to play on European clay this summer and has traveled back to Australia. His lone appearance on the dirt was in Houston, Texas, where he competed in the ATP 250 event at the start of April.
He performed decently there despite his reservations for the surface, reaching the quarterfinal and losing to Reilly Opelka. Recently, Kyrgios spoke to the Daily Telegraph, where he opened up on his romantic affair with Sydney-based social media influencer and interior designer Hatzi.
In the interview, Kyrgios described his girlfriend as an "amazing person." The pair declared their relationship public at the end of last year and have been traveling to tournaments together in the first half of the season.
Last month, Kyrgios and Hatzi teased an engagement when they posted ring emojis on Instagram. Lately, the Australian ATP star has been achieving great results on Tour, largely aided by his emotional and mental well-being on the court, which he believes is thanks to Hatzi's love.
"I guess for me as an athlete, just to know that I have got that person there that can overcome and have that shoulder to lean on whenever I need, that is what I love about her."
"She is definitely the one, I am in love with her and she is an amazing person. We go through ups and downs together but I love her to bits. I guess for me as an athlete, just to know that I have got that person there that can overcome and have that shoulder to lean on whenever I need, that is what I love about her."
Kyrgos plans to return for the grass-court swing early next month to play warm-up tournaments before Wimbledon. He will likely have Hatzi by his side when he travels to Europe.
