John McEnroe has come out once more to praise Spanish youngster Carlos Alcaraz, saying his movement is the world's best.
Ever since the kid from Murcia broke onto the scene, the legend of the sport, John McEnroe, has not hidden the fact that he is a big fan of his style of play and his overall demeanor.
He really has been showing that he means business at this year's Roland Garros, with him already overcoming Juan Ignacio Londero, Albert Ramos-Vinolas, Sebastian Korda, and Karen Khachanov.
Form such as this has gained big praise from all angles in the tennis world, with many considering him a tournament favorite. Despite being a big fan himself, McEnroe understands that a lot will need to go right for him to achieve that.
Having said that, he was full of praise of the Spaniard when asked about him recently.
"I mean, everyone loves him. I love him and he just brings like a fresh energy. He fights and he’s just got this youthful, like, bouncing (energy). He’s got a big game. He moves maybe better than almost anyone I’ve ever seen."
"He may move better than Nadal and Djokovic right now. He may move better than anyone on the tour right now. That’s quite amazing. That’ll help win you some matches."
Carlos Alcaraz is set to play Alexander Zverev during a day session on Tuesday, a battle whose scheduling was previously called into question. The German is yet to play during a night session while his younger Spanish opponent played already two matches during a night session.
It is certainly a quarter-final match-up for the ages for the Court Phillipe Chatrier crowd to enjoy, with Zverev coming into a nice purple patch of form while Alcaraz will be able to hit him with his energetic and powerful game.
