At the 2022 Korea Open in Seoul, Emma Raducanu played her first semifinal match of the season when she took on the first-seeded Jelena Ostapenko.
It's been the best tournament of the season for the 2021 US Open champion, who defeated Moyuka Uchijima, Yanina Wickmayer and Magda Linette without losing a set before taking on Jelena Ostapenko. However, Emma Raducanu struggled with an injury once again and couldn't complete a match that was looking so well for her.
Despite being broken first, the young Brit showed that she wants to reach her first final of the season when she got two breaks in the first set and after 54 minutes, she won it 6-4.
In the second set, it was Raducanu who got the first break and with a set and a break up, it seemed that she will make it happen. However, an injury started bothering former world number 10 and she was also forced to ask for a medical time out in the second set.
Eventually, she got broken twice and lost the set 6-3 and when she lost 10 points in a row in the third set, Raducanu decided to retire from the match as she struggled with a left glute injury.
