Dominic Thiem provides update after ending his 2022 season early

Dominic Thiem updates his fans after he has decided to end his 2022 season earlier than expected.
After playing a few solid tournaments, Thiem was set to move to France for the 2022 Paris Masters, where he received a wild card for the qualifying.
However, the 2020 US Open champion revealed that he wouldn't be playing at the last ATP Masters 1000 event of the season as he wants to rest for 2023 and start "as a machine."
Thiem should finish this year around 100th place in the ATP Rankings, and that should grant him a spot in next year's Australian Open main draw.
In his last event in front of the home crowd in Vienna, the Austrian lost to former World No. 1 and another US Open champion, Daniil Medvedev. Thiem had a really packed schedule lately, and after the match, he revealed his plans.
"We decided that I would focus fully on preparation; I'll finish at 100, 101, or 102. It should work out under normal circumstances. I want to get out there as a machine. That's the only goal. Due to the wrist injury, I've never really been able to do the combination of tennis and fitness training. That will take me further."
The Austrian then provided another update and revealed that he would end his season earlier and then start the new season with exhibition events in the Middle East.
"After the loss at home this week, the official ATP season is over for me. The past two years were tough, but I’m so glad and thankful it’s going in the right direction. Without all your support throughout this time, my comeback wouldn’t be possible."
"Also, I want to thank all my partners who support me in good and bad times. Now it’s time to rest and prepare for the 2023 season. In preparation for next year, I’ll be playing the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia and the World Tennis League in Dubai. I’m looking forward to it and hope to see many fans there."
