After last year's Wimbledon final, in which Novak Djokovic lost to Carlos Alcaraz, he will get a chance to get his revenge this year.
Last year's Wimbledon final was iconic in many ways because the Spaniard lost in the first set, which made it seem like the Serbian player would be able to cruise easily. However, it was the other way around, as Alcaraz battled back to beat his opponent in five sets, even though the fifth set was extremely close and could have gone either way.
The Spaniard hasn't played as sharply this year, but he still made it to the final by beating Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final. Funnily enough, Alcaraz beat Medvedev in the semi-final last year as well, and so far, it's gone the same way this year.
He'll face Djokovic in the final because the Serbian bested Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets in his semi-final match. It was a competitive match, but Djokovic was the one to beat, and that was obvious even before the match.
The 37-year-old broke Musetti's serve midway through the opening set but then got broken when he served for the set at 5-3. Still, Djokovic proved too good, breaking once more to win the set 6-4.
The Italian player then opened the second with a break but couldn't hold it, so it had to be decided in a tie-break after both players kept their level high on their serves. Of course, it was Djokovic who proved better, taking it 7-2.
The final set opened with an early break for Djokovic, who was simply too good for the young Italian. Musetti played a good match but was a bit too timid sometimes.
Djokovic missed more, but he also played the crucial moments better, and that's what got him the win in three sets 6-4, 7-6(2), 6-4 to set up another final with Alcaraz.
