Novak Djokovic created some history recently and he was given a special golden racquet by Head Tennis to commemorate the occasion.
Djokovic recently competed at Roland Garros where he beat some of the best players in the world like Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud. He proved indestructible against Alcaraz enduring brutal conditions against a much younger opponent whose cramps became his undoing.
He followed up that great win with another stellar performance in the final against 3-time grand slam finalist Casper Ruud. There were no problems there and Djokovic finished the job becoming the first man to win 23 grand slam trophies.
It was a huge deal because firstly it was never done before and it was his 3rd grand slam trophy at Roland Garros which made him the only player to win all four grand slams three times.
To mark the occasion, Head Tennis presented Djokovic with a special golden racquet which he was presented alongside his wife and children. Djokovic has been using Head Tennis racquet for much of his career and it's proved to be a very good choice for the Serbian with the long list of his achievements. The brand itself doesn't mind the exposure either.
Their official Instagram page posted a photo of Djokovic and his family holding the racquet with the company listing out some achievements in the caption. It's a neat moment captured on film and the last time Djokovic held a racquet before jetting out to Azores for some much-needed recovery.
Team effort! This is singles Slam #23, setting a new all-time record for men; Novak Djokovic is tied with Serena Williams for most singles Slams, male or female, in the Open Era. And he's back at #1; he will extend his all-time record by at least two weeks. Are we missing anything else?
