Daniil Medvedev is currently away from tennis due to an early exit from Roland Garros but he's doing other things.
Medvedev has been on a tear this year with some impressive performances that saw him lift several trophies so far this year and it came after his early shocking exit in Melbourne at the Australian Open.
Medvedev even added a clay trophy to his tally by beating Holger Rune in Rome. The improvement on the surface got many thinking about his chances at Roland Garros, however, it ended rather quickly when he lost to Thiago Seyboth Wild.
The Russian now has exited both grand slams fairly early without a deep run and that's annoying for sure however he's staying busy off the court. Medvedev used the early exit from Roland Garros to go watch some Formula One action in Barcelona, and the extra time will also give him a head start on grass which is a surface he likes.
The Russian is also an avid gamer which made a lot of fans excited about a hint he dropped on social media recently. He hinted at a gaming-related partnership coming up which he called a fun one. Nobody knows what it's about but it's certainly created some buzz on social media.
In addition…fun partnership coming out soon in the gaming world
Medvedev's next event is the Libema Open in Den Bosch where he'll be the top seed alongside Jannik Sinner who should be the second seed. The Russian played there last year making his way to the final but ended up losing to native player Tim van Rijthoven.
It's coming up next week with the first day of the event taking place on June 12th, one day after the conclusion of Roland Garros. He'll then place in Halle leading up to Wimbledon where he hopes to make a deep run. It's been a while since he had one.
