Carlos Alcaraz continued to struggle on the grass in Hurlingham dropping a match at the event in straight sets for the 2nd time 6-7(2) 2-6.

Alcaraz did not play any prep events for Wimbledon due to some elbow issues and he was sporting heavy strapping on it once more. He didn't play that well against Frances Tiafoe earlier in the week and those struggles continued against Ruud today.

Casper 'grass is for golfers' Ruud proved quite comfortable on the surface clearly learning from his mistakes in Queen's. The Norwegian got beaten by native player Ryan Peniston and he looked much sharper in this match. He was helped by Alcaraz who was not that great overhitting balls on more than a few instances.

The first set was a close one and we ended up in a tiebreak with Ruud outplaying his opponent 7-2. At the start of the 2nd set, Ruud continued creating issues for Alcaraz who was unable to find a solution by dropping his serve. From there it was a rather straightforward cruise for the Norweigan who comfortably added another break and cruised to a 6-2 finish.
