Andy Murray dropped an event from his pre-US Open schedule to as he opts to reduce his playing time before the US Open.

Murray was originally scheduled to play both in Atlanta and Washington however the Brit has now dropped Atlanta from his US Open prep in an effort to reduce the playing time before the Grand Slam. It probably came after he defined clearly what events he wants to play and which are better to be skipped.

The Brit played a lot leading up to Wimbledon and he paid the price for it, getting his abdominals injured which totally stopped his preparation for Wimbledon. It seems like Murray is keen to avoid a similar scenario at the US Open where he played so well last year. Murray's last outing came in Newport last week on grass where he lost to eventual finalist Alexander Bublik.
