Alexander Zverev has announced that he will be auctioning off several high-profile items from his tennis career, with the proceeds raised going to United Charity.

The announcement was made through both social media, with Zverev revealing that his French Open racquet from this year and his Olympic jacket are set to go to auction, with an invite to the gala dinner for the German's foundation also up for grabs.

"Meet tennis star Alexander Zverev in person - at an exclusive gala evening at United Charity. You can now auction this unforgettable experience with us at @tannenhofsportspa as well as his Head tennis racket and Olympic jacket, take it home," United Charity said in a statement.

It has been a very challenging year for Zverev, who was in peak form before suffering a severe ankle injury in his French Open semi-final against Rafael Nadal, which ended his 2022 season in June.

25 year-old Zverev looked best placed of the younger players to break through and win a first Grand Slam, before the injury in early June. The German has won multiple Masters 1000 titles, an Olympic gold medal, two ATP Tour Finals titles, and was recently made himself a consistent presence at the business end of the majors, frequently beating the established top three.

The good news for the talented young German is that he is near to a full recovery and will be returning to the match court next month at an exhibition tournament in the Middle East. Zverev is expected to make his long-awaited return at the Diriyah Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia. The Diriyah Tennis Cup takes place between December 8th and 10th.

It will be a welcome return to action for Zverev and the ATP, who have bee missing one of their top players for half a season.
