Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner could still have one more confrontation on a tennis court before the end of 2023, as per reports.

According to Italian journalist, Stefano Semeraro of La Stampa, an exhibition pitting Alcaraz against Sinner is scheduled at the JC Ferrero Academy on December 22. Both players have already started preseason and are currently in Spain.

Sinner is in Alicante - a port city in Spain’s southeastern Costa Blanca where he has situated his training block and will train there until December 21. After that, he will book an hour-long drive to Murcia to meet Alcaraz for the match in Murcia.

It is not unusual for Sinner to train in Spain at this time of the year. He was in Alicante with Darren Cahill and Simone Vagnozzi last year, and it turned out to be a pretty decent showing for him in 2023.

Alcaraz jetted from Mexico, where he had been vacationing and using his star power to promote tennis in the country. He played an exhibition against Tommy Paul in front of nearly 30,000 fans in Mexico City and then traveled to Los Cabos to hold tennis clinics for hotel guests.

Alcaraz has since returned to his home city in Murcia, where he was bestowed the honor of lighting up the famous Great Christmas Tree with an LED tennis ball. Thousands of locals flocked to witness the holiday festivities kick off in style.

Alcaraz and Sinner are two of the world's biggest tennis stars who have been touted to carry the sport for many years. They are just two years apart in age and have played seven times on the ATP Tour, with the 20-year-old World No. 2 trailing 3-4 head-to-head.

Alcaraz's program will entail a full week of training at the Ferrero Tennis Academy before he travels to Saudi Arabia to play Novak Djokovic in a lucrative exhibition match in Riyadh as part of the Gulf Kingdom's government-sponsored annual sporting and entertainment festivities.

The Spaniard will unlikely feature in any warm-up events leading to the Australian Open. Sinner, however, is slated to play the Kooyong Classic in January.
