The Gentlemen's singles draw for the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, running from July 1st to 14th, was revealed.
Last year's final match was one to remember when Carlos Alcaraz outplayed Novak Djokovic in an epic five-set final. This year, one will be coming to SW19 with the objective of defending the title, while the other continues the charge for the 25th major.
But none of them will be the top seed at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships, as that is Jannik Sinner, who recently became World No. 1 player. The top-seeded Italian will start his tournament against Yannick Hanfmann, with a possible second-round match against fellow compatriot and event's former finalist Matteo Berrettini.
On the other side of the draw will be the seven-time Wimbledon champion Djokovic, who is still trying to get back to his best shape, but he is in the draw and will start against Vit Kopriva.
The defending champion Alcaraz is only the third seed, and he landed in Sinner's part of the draw. In his first match, which will be the opening of the Centre Court on Monday, he will play against Mark Lajal.
Andy Murray's participation is still unsure, but the British legend is part of the draw, and his first-round opponent at the All England Club, should he compete, will be Tomas Machac.
But the tournament won't be only about the former champions and top seeds, as there are many players in the draw, who will be eyeing that prestigious trophy for the champion.
One of them will be the fourth-seeded Alexander Zverev, who had a solid Roland Garros, reaching the final before falling to a five-set defeat against Alcaraz. The German will start the grass-court major with a match against Roberto Carballes Baena.
Daniil Medvedev will be the fifth seed in London, and he will start his tournament against Aleksandar Kovacevic. The seventh-seeded Hubert Hurkacz is among the players who can do damage on the low-bouncing surface, and he will play against Radu Albot in the first round.
