The final tournament of the 2024 Asian Swing on the ATP Tour will take place at the 2024 Almaty Open, Kazakhstan, and the entry list has been revealed.

Running from October 14th to 20th, the 2024 Almaty Open occurs during the same week as two European indoor hardcourt tournaments, including the European Open in Antwerp.

The Almaty Open is also an indoor hardcourt event. It was called the Astana Open from 2020 until 2023, before the tournament was moved to Almaty for the 2024 iteration.

Several tournaments were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to the tournament's addition to the ATP Tour in 2020. John Millman won the only ATP title of his career in the first year.

Soonwoo Kwon secured the men's singles the following year. There was a blockbuster final in 2022 between Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas, won by the Serbian 6-3, 6-4.

Adrian Mannarino is the defending champion. He recovered from losing the first set against Sebastian Korda to triumph 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Korda was visibly devastated after that painful loss to the Frenchman.

It is possible that the tournament was only meant to be temporary until China lifted its stringent COVID-19 restrictions. However, its success means ATP organizers felt a duty to find a spot for it on the calendar.

Korda returns to the event as the No. 1 seed after coming so close to the title last year. The American won the ATP 500 at the Citi Open in Washington and will be confident he can take the next step in 2024's edition.

The defending champion, Mannarino, is also on the entry list for the 2024 Almaty Open. He is enduring a terrible season and will drop steeply in the rankings if he loses in the early rounds in Kazakhstan.

Frances Tiafoe is set to be the No. 2 seed at the 2024 Almaty Open. The American is one of the most watchable players in the men's game, and the organizers undoubtedly welcomed his addition with joy.

Tiafoe is in good form. He was the runner-up at the Cincinnati Open and a semifinalist at the US Open, although his defeat to Taylor Fritz at Flushing Meadows was brutal. Tiafoe felt he was the better player but still came up short in New York.

The 2024 Almaty Open entry list also contains the electric Arthur Fils. This year's Hamburg Open champion will be a star for years to come on the ATP Tour because of his terrific athleticism and huge forehand. There are usually big crowds when the 20-year-old plays.

Two-time Grand Slam semifinalist Karen Khachanov is another player on the Almaty Open entry list. A few weeks ago, he made headlines by losing the longest-ever US Open match to Dan Evans despite leading 4-0 in the deciding set.

Those players competing mean the 2024 Almaty Open should be an excellent viewing experience for the fans. There is still plenty to play for before the season concludes, and those competing in Kazakhstan will undoubtedly fight for every point.
