The
draw for the 2023
Hamburg Open has been released, and the ATP 500 tournament, held from July 24th to 30th, promises to deliver some high-quality clay-court action.
As the first ATP 500 clay-court tournament after the third major of the season, the 2023 Hamburg European Open gives a chance to clay-court specialists that want to show their qualities and earn some
valuable ranking points along with prize money.
In the first round of the tournament, Musetti will start against a qualifier in the first round of the tournament. Although the World No. 1 will be absent from this year's event, the defending champion will face a tough competition.
The top seed at the tournament is
Casper Ruud,
who is doing well in Bastad, and his schedule will be packed with another tournament right after. The first-seeded Norwegian will start against a dangerous clay-court player, Sebastian Baez.
Another player that will share the journey from Bastad to Hamburg with Ruud is
Andrey Rublev.
The Russian is also a semifinalist at the event in Sweden, and as the second seed in Hamburg, he will start against Bernabe Zapata Miralles.
On his way to the semifinals, Rublev defeated his good friend
Alexander Zverev, and the German will be the home-crowd favourite in Hamburg. As the fourth seed in the tournament, he will begin against Alex Molcan.
