The 2023 China Open will be held in Beijing from September 28th to October 4th, and it has one of the strongest ATP 500 draws of the season.
Although Novak Djokovic didn't sign up for the tournament, the event is still full of talented youngsters and Top 10 players. The leading player is Carlos Alcaraz, who is the top seed at the tournament, and he will start against one of the qualifiers in the first round of the event.
On the other side of the draw is the second-seeded Daniil Medvedev, who defeated the young Spaniard at the US Open, and in Beijing, the Russian will start his journey against Tommy Paul from the United States.
The winner of this match will also face a challenging second-round clash, as the winner of the match will await either Andy Murray or Alex de Minaur. Another interesting matchup in this quarter will see the fifth-seeded Andrey Rublev take on Cameron Norrie.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who had a very interesting past few weeks, will also face a dangerous player in the first round. Big-serving Nicolas Jarry will play against the fourth-seeded Greek in the first round, and the winner of the match will meet one of the qualifiers in the second round.
Alexander Zverev has been doing really well lately, and the German will be the eighth seed in China. In the first round of the tournament, he will meet Diego Schwartzman, who has struggled with his form recently.
Jannik Sinner took part in the draw ceremony, and the Italian certainly won't be happy to see Daniel Evans in the first round, especially after the Brit guided his country to the 2023 Davis Cup Finals Last Eight.
Another first-round blockbuster will see the third-seeded Holger Rune, who wants to forget his bad form from recent months, take on Felix Auger-Aliassime, who was part of the successful Team World at the 2023 Laver Cup.
