Shortly after the two announced that they are dating, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa will appear on the court together at Wimbledon.
Of course, it won't be the very first time that they appear on the tennis court together as the two practiced in Mallorca before. However, it will be the very first time that they compete together in a competitive match.
Tsitsipas and Badosa signed up for the mixed doubles tournament, and the fact that they are a couple makes their pairing even sweeter. However, they are not the only couple in the draw. Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter also teamed up and the two will start against Storm Hunter and John Peers.
On the other hand, Tsitsipas and Badosa will have a much more difficult draw. 'Tsitsidosa' as the two are called, will start against the top-seeded team of Austin Krajicek and Jessica Pegula from the United States.
As majority of the players competing on the ATP & WTA Tours, Tsitsipas and Badosa don't have a lot of experience of playing the mixed doubles, but maybe their couple synergy may give them an extra boost.
Yet, facing two players that are both in the Top 3 of their respective doubles rankings won't be an easy task. But also at the 2023 Wimbledon, Tsitsidosa are supporting each other, as recently Badosa rushed from her match to watch her boyfriend as he defeated Dominic Thiem.
The Greek addressed their doubles pairing after his first-round victory, as it won't be the only doubles that he will play at the event. He'll also team up with his brother Petros to play the men's doubles, so it will be the full schedule for Tsitsipas.
After his win over Thiem, the World No. 5 said that playing doubles with his brother and mixed doubles with his girlfriend is special for him and that he wouldn't do it for anyone else but these two people that are so close to him.
