Last year, Barbora Krejcikova triumphed in both singles and doubles at the Roland Garros, and this year, only 18-year-old Coco Gauff can do the same.

The young American will play in the semi-finals of both singles and doubles at the 2022 Roland Garros, and her doubles partner, Jessica Pegula, who lost in the quarter-finals in singles to Iga Swiatek, thinks that her colleague can achieve the same sweep as Krejcikova did last year.

If she wants to do it, Gauff needs to win four more matches in the French capital. Two in singles and two in doubles. However, it's clear that she has her doubles partner's support, which might be crucial on her journey to the French Open sweep.

"I told her, ‘Freaking semis in singles and doubles, we need the final of both, then go for the sweep’. That would be awesome. She loves clay, not surprised that she's in the semis. I'm sure she really wants to at least get to the final and win this next match."

Gauff's semi-final opponent in the singles competition will be Martin Trevisan, and without wanting to disrespect the Italian player, Pegula described why that was a great opportunity for her compatriot.

"Not that (Martina) Trevisan is bad, but I think it's a great opportunity as in she's not playing like a seed that she's lost to before or anything. She definitely did a really great job of working through her draw pretty elegantly, not having too many crazy matches and getting the job done. That's going to give her confidence."
"How old is she? 18, 19? It's just ridiculous. I feel like she's been 18 for like five years. I'm like, ‘Coco, you're like a veteran’. She has so much time, so I hope she doesn't get too stressed out about that either, because I'm sure she will have many more chances. But, yes, we're definitely hoping she gets to that final and then hopefully in doubles too."
