Emma Raducanu defeated Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters and she also became the first player ever to bagel both of these players.
It seems that ahead of the 2022 US Open, the British sensations found her form again. She certainly showed that in her first two appearances in Cincinnati and also Martina Navratilova noticed it. The 18-time Grand Slam champion criticized Emma Raducanu several times this year, when she stated:
“I don’t think she’s fit enough, her forehand looks a bit dodgy, she’s not hitting through the ball,” Navratilova said of Raducanu back in June.
Now, Martina Navratilova met face to face in the post-match interview at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters and their conversation was quite funny.
"We saw the quality of your game last year at the US Open. We haven't seen that form since then. Now, you've clicked back-to-back matches," said Navratilova when speaking to Raducanu in the post-match interview.
“Yeah I know, you’ve made me really aware of my past 12 months Martina,” Raducanu joked.
