Serena Williams revealed the gender of her second baby, but it was in a way that even she did not expect.
Revealing a baby's gender turned into a special celebration over the past few years, and Williams' former WTA colleague, Naomi Osaka, also recently had a beautiful gender reveal. For Serena, this wasn't the first rodeo, but the reveal was special.
But the reveal probably wasn't as Williams, who, according to some, retired too early, probably expected. And it was all because of her husband, Alexis Ohanian, who prepared a special surprise for Serena and their first daughter Olympia.
The two shared their 'Big Reveal' in a YouTube video, in which Ohanian explains the whole situation. Initially, he made his wife Serena and daughter Olympia think that the baby's gender would be hidden inside a cake, which they cut. But once they made the cut, the cake was yellow, to everyone's surprise.
"So this cake, is as basic of a gender reveal idea as I can come up with. Inside, it's yellow. I'm doing this, because I wanna troll her and Olympia into thinking that this is the reveal. She will cut into this cake, and probably be disappointed, and hopefully appreciate my troll. There's a reveal after reveal."
Once Serena cut the cake, and it was yellow, everyone seemed to be really surprised, but the 23-time Grand Slam champion seemingly already knew that there was something that her husband planned to make the reveal special.
After that, a spectacular light show followed, which saw multiple drones appear in the sky and create a beautiful show. The audience couldn't wait to see the gender, which was eventually revealed, and celebrated by both parents. Earlier in the video, Williams said that she's 'team pink,' and she could celebrate after the reveal as Olympia will be having a sister. You can show the beautiful reveal in the video below.
