Venus Williams Returns To Practice Ahead Of Teased Comeback At Indian Wells Open

Venus Williams is getting ready for a comeback to tennis, which means she's back to practice, and she posted a picture from it on social media.

The American is not giving up on tennis, at least for now, as she's preparing for another comeback. There have been many comebacks for Williams recently, and it's because she's been away from tennis because of various injuries.

Last year's grass stretch was pretty impressive, all things considered, but unfortunately, an injury ended it. It wasn't the last match she played last year, as she made a comeback at the Cincinnati Open and actually bested a very solid Veronika Kudermetova 6-4, 7-5.

Wins like that prove that she can still win on the WTA Tour, but she struggles to stay healthy. Looking at her last decently healthy year (2019), Williams totaled 34 matches. Since then, she has totaled 40 matches in the following four years, which shows that she struggles to remain healthy.

She's yet to play this year but admitted recently that she plans to return at the Sunshine Double. The Indian Wells Open starts on March 6th, and the Miami Open follows not long after that, and fans would certainly be excited to see the experienced American on the court again.

It seems like it's happening, as Williams posted an Instagram story and post showing herself on the tennis court. It remains to be seen whether things work out for her because, at her age, an injury can occur any day.

But for now, the 43-year-old is hitting the practice courts, and as she revealed recently, her younger sister, Serena Williams, jokingly told her she can't stop, so we'll see how long Venus keeps going, but right now, she's certainly on course to break some more records in her already record-breaking career.
