Stefanos Tsitsipas has been under fire by fans on social media for a long time now for tweeting quotes that he presented as his own, failing to attribute the quotes to their original author.

While it’s not the biggest issue in the world, it’s seen as disrespectful and considered in very bad taste. Despite the criticism, Tsitsipas hasn’t really stopped doing it and almost seems to keep doing it in spite of that.

His most recent intervention on social media got him into more trouble than usual because there was heavy backlash after the Greek player shared a problematic tweet, which was wrong in many ways.

This time around he retweeted what has largely been perceived as an anti-feminist statement. It’s impossible to argue against that notion because the quote in question was very concise:

"Modern feminism teaches women to hate men."

That got a lot of response from fans and not only fans. Many people chimed in, including noted reporter Caroline Whittaker, who called him out directly. After that, Tsitsipas attempted a U-turn by posting another tweet:

"Feminism empowers people, which is one of the key reasons young people should get involved. It's a prevalent misperception that feminism is exclusively beneficial to women, and that only women may be feminists. Feminism actually seeks gender equality, not superiority for women."

The only problem with this post is that it wasn’t really his words, either. The original was taken from a blog that Tsitsipas once again failed to attribute, which got him even more hate.

These social media stunts by Tsitsipas in recent times have been very bizarre because they don’t really achieve anything but get him even more hate from fans. Even so, he keeps doing it.
