British singer and record producer Seal, backed Iga Swiatek to return to the summit of women's tennis.

Seal, caught up with the Pole during her visit to New York in the last couple of weeks watching the US Open from the stands. Swiatek is a massive fan of the 60-year-old Londoner, having had the privilege of meeting him at last year's tournament which she won.

At the time Swiatek recalled getting to share a photo with him akin to winning the tournament. This year, Seal was featured in Swiatek's New York City photo dump on Instagram with the 22-year-old Pole sharing a list of adventures during her stay at Flushing Meadows with the caption, 'throwback to NY'.

Seal shared Swiatek's post and left a comment on it, expressing his delight of meeting the World No. 2 once again, and remains confident that Swiatek will reclaim the World No. 1 ranking from Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka.

"What an amazing moment meeting up with you again Iga. See you soon back where you belong. #1!"

Swiatek's US Open title defense came to an end in the fourth round. She lost to big-hitting Jelena Ostapenko in three sets for the fourth time without reply in their series. As a consequence, she was powerless to stop Aryna Sabalenka from taking over as the new No. 1.

Swiatek's dominance at the top ends at week 75 and the Polish star's chances of fashioning a comeback took a blow, having decided to withdraw from next week's Guadalajara Open due to a change of schedule and decided to listen to her body.

It means the next time we will see Swiatek in action will be at the Japan Open in Tokyo, which is a WTA 500-level event. Swiatek will be the top seed, with the tournament running from September 25th to October 1st.
