Ons Jabeur won the Karen Krantzcke Sportsmanship Award for the first time in her career and it's a great honour.

It's a big matter because people who watch tennis from the other side of the net cast the votes, not tennis enthusiasts. Even if the majority of players appreciate the rest of the field because of the daily grind they share, it may be very difficult to maintain popularity in a highly competitive sport.

The player who best exemplified professional tennis player behaviour—playing fairly and showing respect for the opposition— gets the award. The honour was initially presented in 1978, and previous winners include Kvitova, Ivanovic, Davenport, Evert, and others.
