Emma Raducanu's singles achievements turned her into a worldwide name, but the 19-year-old also wants to play doubles alongside one of Britain's other Grand Slam champions

Raducanu has had a challenging year in singles so far in 2022. Her 6-3 1-6 1-6 loss to Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the French Open second round demonstrates this. Raducanu should not lose two sets so heavily in a matchup like that.

However, the 2021 US Open champion showed a glimpse of what she is capable of in Stuttgart in April. She reached the quarterfinal there and was competitive in the quarterfinal against the world No. 1 Iga Swiatek.

Unfortunately, those moments have been too fleeting for Raducanu. She will hope the second half of the season will see her find some of the form that took her to the title in New York last year.

Some fans may feel that interacting with the three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray could help Raducanu. The experienced Briton has extensive experience managing challenging periods.

Any contact between Raducanu and Murray could lead to a conversation about playing doubles together, and Raducanu has confirmed that she thinks this will happen in the future.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Raducanu confirmed that the doubles pairing will happen, although she's unsure whether it will be this year as they haven't discussed it yet.

“We haven’t actually spoken about it but it’s something we feel we both want to do. I’m not sure if this is going to be the year, but hopefully, it will happen.”

Murray, who claimed two of his three grand slam singles titles at Wimbledon, has a track record for partnering up with greats in the mixed doubles arena. The 36-year-old previously played alongside Serena Williams at Wimbledon in 2019.

Raducanu doesn't have much experience with doubles at the pro level, but her and Murray's partnership would be fun to watch.
