Naomi Osaka has announced she is to venture into the world of literature with the release of her first children's book.
The four-time Grand Slam champion and former World No.1 will follow in the footsteps of other stars like Serena Williams and Steph Curry by releasing the novel titled 'The Way Champs Play'.
The book is set to be released on December 6 and will be published by her production company Hana Kuma.
Osaka took to Instagram to reveal her news, to her 2.7 Million followers.
In the post, she wrote: "I hope this book inspires kids to chase their dreams and encourages them to believe they can do anything they put their minds to,"
The move follows an eventful 12 months for the Japanese tennis star, with the launch of her production company and a skincare brand. This followed the creation of her own sports agency.
In 2021, Forbes magazine named Osaka as highest paid athlete in the world though her form on the tennis court has plummeted.
She currently sits at No.44 in the world rankings having only competed in 13 tournaments all year, playing in just 23 matches and failing to claim a WTA title.
Osaka also confirmed that all proceeds from the her book sales will go to her foundation the Play Academy, where she looks to help young girls into sport.
She added: "This book holds an extra special place in my heart as a portion of the proceeds will go to my foundation @playacademynaomi which works to support young girls in sport."
