It took Jessica Pegula a while to develop into the player she is now, but she has always seen herself among the best in the world as she kept pushing for her dreams.

She put on yet another outstanding performance in Guadalajara, where she beat Sloane Stephens and advanced to the semifinals. She now has 37 victories overall in WTA 1000 tournaments over the previous two years, making her the most successful player in those tournaments during that time.

The stat was posted on social media by tennis stat-tracking site OptaAce and Pegula responded to it:

"If you told me 5 years ago when I couldn’t string 2 matches together that I would have this stat… 🤯 you can always improve, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise."

Pegula's response served as a potent reminder to keep striving for success because she did so in order to reach this point and it is proof that it's attainable. To advance to the championship match, she must defeat Victoria Azarenka with the match set for later today.
