Iga Swiatek is the WTA number one while Daniil Medvedev is the ATP number one and for the first time since 2014, the WTA number one has more points.
Iga Swiatek has had a dominating season so far accumulating a lot of points thanks to her dominant play. She is firmly ranked as the best player in the world having 8631 points to her name. Daniil Medvedev overtook Novak Djokovic today as the ATP number one and he has 7950. As you can see Swiatek has more points than Medvedev and that's a milestone.
For the first time since 2014, the WTA number one has more points than the ATP one. On January 13th 2014 Serena Williams was number one on the WTA rankings with 13260 to her name. Rafael Nadal was ATP number one with 13130 points to his name. Serena had more and now Swiatek did it again. Yet another milestone for the Polish player who is racking them up just like Serena did many years ago. Pretty decent company.
