"I think she could be quitting very soon" - Venus Williams' father on her retirement

Richard Williams, the father of Venus Williams, recently spoke about his daughter's potential retirement from professional tennis.

Venus Williams, who has won multiple Grand Slam singles, doubles and mixed doubles titles throughout her career, has been competing on the WTA Tour for nearly three decades and recorded a win also in 2023, aged 42.

She has won 7 singles Grand Slam titles, 14 Grand Slam Women's doubles titles, and 2 Grand Slam Mixed doubles titles. She also has won an Olympic gold medal in singles and doubles in 2000, and in doubles in 2008 and 2012 respectively. But her illustrious career may soon come to an end

In an interview with the U.S. Sun, he stated that he does not believe Venus will have children and that she may be quitting the sport "very soon."

"I don't think so, no I really don't think so. She really loves kids, but I don't think she'll have kids. [And] I think she could be quitting [tennis] very soon."

While Venus has not publicly announced any plans to retire, she has been dealing with injuries in recent years. She also withdrew from the 2023 Australian Open because of an injury. This was the latest in a series of injuries that have hindered her performance in recent seasons.
