The 2025 United Cup will kick off the new season on December 27th, and the group stage draw for the team event has already been unveiled.
ATP and WTA players get a chance to play together and represent their countries at the United Cup. Last year's iteration was won by Germany, which had Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber on its team.
Each tie at the United Cup includes a men's singles, women's singles, and mixed doubles match. There are six groups of three teams, and all contests are played in Sydney or Perth.
Several top players always appear at each edition of the United Cup, but this year's lineup is particularly outstanding, which should encourage fans in the two host cities to buy tickets.
Coco Gauff, who usually starts her season at the ASB Classic in Auckland, will represent Team USA at the United Cup. The world No. 3 is the highest-ranked member of a very strong American team.
Danielle Collins, who reversed her decision to retire at the end of 2024, is also on the USA team. She is joined by Taylor Fritz, this year's men's singles runner-up at the US Open.
Team USA has been drawn in group A against Canada and an unconfirmed team that will qualify based on the combined ranking. The Canadian lineup includes Felix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Fernandez, who have helped win the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup for their countries.
Iga Swiatek, who has been overtaken at No. 1 by Aryna Sabalenka, helped Poland finish as the runner-up to Germany last year. With the final locked at 1-1, she and Hubert Hurkacz lost a very close deciding doubles match to Zverev and Laura Siegemund.
Swiatek and Hurkacz are on the Polish team again this year, and they have been drawn against the Czech Republic and Norway in group B. Wimbledon champion Barbora Krejcikova is on the Czech team, and Casper Ruud is set to feature for Norway.
Germany, the defending champions, is in Group E alongside China and Brazil. Zverev and Siegemund have signed up for the team event again, but Kerber will not feature after she retired from the sport at the Olympics.
Qinwen Zheng, who defeated Kerber in her last match before winning a gold medal at the Olympics, is on the Chinese team. Beatriz Haddad Maia has agreed to play for Brazil, whose fans always give her incredible support wherever she plays.
Host nation Australia, which has Alex de Minaur on its team, is in Group F with Great Britain and another yet-to-be-confirmed team. Jack Draper is the highest-ranked player on the British team.
Stefanos Tsitsipas's Greece will compete against Spain and Kazakhstan in group C. Elena Rybakina's inclusion boosts the Kazakh team, while Pablo Carreno Busta's experience helps the Spaniards.
Italy, France, and Switzerland are the teams in group D. Jasmine Paolini is on the Italian team, and Belinda Bencic, who announced her return to tennis after being on maternity leave, will represent Switzerland.
