Gauff & Siniakova Continue Incredibly Dominant Roland Garros Doubles Journey Into Semi-Finals

Coco Gauff and Katerina Siniakova continued their 2024 Roland Garros charge, securing a semi-final with yet another dominant win.

The 20-year-old American initially didn't plan on playing doubles at this year's Roland Garros as her usual doubles partner, Jessica Pegula, is away from the sport due to an injury.

She wanted to focus mostly on singles, but in the end, she signed up for the doubles, teaming up with doubles specialist Siniakova. The Czech player is one of the best doubles players in the world, and the pairing with Gauff proved to be quite formidable, with a couple of amazing performances.

It was no different in the quarter-final, even if they faced a good pairing of the 16th-seeded Miyu Kato and Nadiya Kichenok. The American-Czech team started out furiously breaking their opponents early in the opening set.

They added two more breaks later on in the set to take it 6-0, which is a relatively rare occurrence in doubles. A team really has to be dominant to win a set 6-0 in doubles, and Gauff and Siniakova have been quite dominant so far at the event.

They're certainly looking capable of winning the tournament, which isn't unusual for the Czech player, who has won Grand Slam trophies in doubles before. The youngster, on the other hand, has stood in finals but never gone all the way in doubles.

She's obviously more focused on singles right now, with a match against Iga Swiatek looming. The second set of their quarter-final doubles match opened with another early break for them, and they kept cruising.

Gauff and Siniakova didn't allow a single break point in the entire match, which is impressive. Most of the damage they did happened on their opponents' second serves.

They were also clinical on break points, which was very important. Overall, it was just a great performance, with the final score being 6-0, 6-2.
