Johanna Konta, former world number four and British number one, who retired from professional tennis just a few months ago, and her husband Jackson Wade are expecting their first child.
Johanna Konta, 30, announced the news on social media on Monday, making a playful allusion to one of her favorite off-court pastimes. Konta, who enjoys baking, competed in the celebrity version of "The Great British Bake-Off" in 2020, finishing second, and on her social media she wrote: "Busy baking my own little muffin right now."
In her career, Johanna Konta earned more than $10 million in prize money while reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon and also the quarterfinals of the US Open. After her 2017 Wimbledon semifinal run, she also reached her career-high in the WTA Rankings when she climbed to the fourth place.
