Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek will meet for the 14th time, with both trying to secure the 2025 United Cup for their country.

These two players have already met 13 times on the WTA Tour, and their rivalry is one of the most exciting, even though it's been relatively lopsided.

At the United Cup, wins of both Gauff and Swiatek were essential for their nations to reach the final. While the United States already has a trophy from the inaugural edition of the tournament, in which Gauff didn't play, Poland's best result is last year's final.

Back then, Swiatek won her match, but Hubert Hurkacz couldn't convert match points against Alexander Zverev, with Poland later losing also the mixed doubles match.

They will want to change their fortunes this year, but Team USA won't be easy to beat. After beating the Czech Republic in the semi-finals, Gauff was full of confidence, looking forward to her match with Swiatek.

"Yeah, I'm feeling great. I felt like I was playing good today. Obviously Iga is a tough opponent. I don't know. I haven't thought about it too much yet. But yeah, I think it's going to be a great level of tennis and super excited to go out there tomorrow and hopefully bring the Cup back home."
"I think just confidence. I was very confident in Riyadh. Yeah, I think when I'm playing confident tennis, that's my best tennis. It makes it hard for her or anyone to really do anything. So tomorrow I'm just going to go out there and be confident."

Coco Gauff vs Iga Swiatek Head-to-head:

Swiatek won the first seven matches against her younger rival. That's when Gauff managed to stop the Pole's unbeaten run, beating her at the Cincinnati Open in 2023.

Since then, Swiatek won four consecutive matches again, but their last meeting was won by Gauff. The American player bested the World No. 2 at the 2024 WTA Finals, a tournament she ultimately won.

Out of 13 matches that they played, five of them happened on the clay courts, and Swiatek naturally won all of those. But when it comes to the four hard-court matches that they played since the Cincinnati Open in 2023, the H2H scored is tied at 2-2.

Naturally, the hard courts suit Gauff a little bit more, and with her new-found confidence under new coach Matt Dally, she will be more dangerous against Swiatek than ever before.

Coco Gauff vs Iga Swiatek Prediction:

Swiatek proved that she's still one of the two best players in the world by beating Elena Rybakina in the semi-finals of the tournament, and now another challenge will await the Pole.

She dominated the rivalry against Gauff in the past, but the word past is an important one in that sentence. The American is becoming a more confident player, and her weaknesses are starting to become her strengths.

With her recent form and self-belief, Gauff could certainly win this match, even if it would need to be in three sets.

Prediction: Coco Gauff to win in three sets.
