Badosa, Pegula & Jabeur Among Players Confirmed To Compete At Charleston Open

One of the most exciting WTA tournaments is coming up, and there are already a few names who have signed up to play at the 2024 Charleston Open.

There are many things that make this event one of the most interesting events on the calendar. First of all, it's played on an island called Daniel Island. Second of all, it's played on green clay, which is a rather unique type of surface that fans don't really get to see often.

In fact, this is the only WTA event that features green clay. The event is owned by the father of tennis player Emma Navarro, who will certainly love to return to the event where she essentially learned how to play tennis.

She's not the only one that will play at the event because several big names already confirmed their participation at the event. Paula Badosa is among them, as is Jessica Pegula, who recently denied rumours of being pregnant.

After not playing for several weeks, the American is going to make her comeback ahead of the upcoming Sunshine Double, and she will also make a stop in Charleston for the Credit One Open.

Another player who will be playing at the event is Ons Jabeur, who played in Charleston before. She most recently withdrew from the Dubai Championships due to a knee injury, but she is seemingly fit enough to play in Charleston.

Some other big names that have signed up for the event include Elina Svitolina as well as Leylah Fernandez, and Americans Madison Keys and Sloane Stephens.

Check out the list of players who have already signed up to play in Charleston, as the event kicks off on March 30th and runs through April 7th.
