Serena Williams gave fans an unusually intimate look at her family life this week.
Posting a carousel of photos on Instagram that quickly became one of her most talked-about posts in months.
The 44-year-old retired tennis champion posed with her two daughters, husband Alexis Ohanian and sister Venus Williams for a series of holiday snapshots that captured a side of her life she rarely makes public.
"I don't share these moments often, but being their mom is my favorite place to be," Williams wrote in the caption.
"I'm with them 363 out of 365 days a year and I wouldn't trade it for anything. This weekend was everything."
The photos showed Williams dressed in a long Etro silk dress with a floral paisley pattern, featuring a low V-neckline, long billowing sleeves and a statement belt cinching the waist.
Standing in front of her were her daughters, 8-year-old Olympia and 2-year-old Adira, both dressed in floral Easter outfits and throwing up peace signs at the camera. Olympia wore a white dress with pink watercolor flowers while Adira sported a blue dress with rosette appliqués and a white fur coat.
The final slide of the carousel brought the whole family together, with Ohanian joining the frame alongside Venus Williams and her husband Andrea Preti.
The post drew an enthusiastic response from fans, many of whom noted how rarely Williams shares glimpses of her children.

Serena Williams on weight loss journey

The Easter photos also drew attention for another reason. Williams has been open about her weight loss journey since giving birth to Adira in 2024, and the post showed off her noticeably slimmer figure.
She has shed at least 35 pounds since Adira's birth and has spoken publicly about using a GLP-1 medication, though that disclosure came after she had already partnered with Ro, a weight loss medication company in which Ohanian is an early investor and board member.
The delayed disclosure caused backlash at the time, but the reaction to her Easter post was largely positive, with fans praising her appearance and her openness about motherhood.
Williams has been candid in recent months about how central her children have become to her identity since retiring from professional tennis in 2022.
During an appearance on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle in January, she opened up about life with her two daughters and their very different personalities.
"The older one is so sweet, Olympia is so sweet," she said.
"She's the best big sister! And then the little one, Adira, she's feisty, but she's nice. I mean, I'm obsessed."
Williams also admitted she has to be conscious of not showing favouritism toward her younger daughter.
"I'm the youngest, so I always have to make sure that I'm not being, you know, not necessarily favorites, but being too nice," she said.
The Easter post follows a series of family moments Williams has shared on Instagram in recent months. Earlier this year, she posted photos taken after Venus's wedding, showing the two sisters together with their families, Adira and Olympia matching in light blue dresses.
"Joy does not always roar, sometimes it whispers. It is important to savor those sweet moments," she wrote at the time.
Williams retired from professional tennis in September 2022, signing off with a third-round exit at the US Open. Since stepping away from the court, she has spoken frequently about how her priorities have shifted.
