Carlos Alcaraz won the 2025 Battle of Legends after beating Frances Tiafoe in Puerto Rico.

Alcaraz and Tiafoe are two players who tennis fans like to watch the most. They are both incredibly entertaining, which is why they are the perfect candidates for any exhibition event or match.

With the 2025 Indian Wells Open around the corner, tennis players moved closer to the United States. Some competed at the ATP 500 event in Acapulco, Mexico, while others started preparing directly in Indian Wells without any tournaments before that.

Then, there were those who signed up to play exhibitions. Jannik Sinner and Taylor Fritz signed up for the MGM Rewards Slam in Las Vegas, but that exhibition was canceled. However, the women's match in Las Vegas still went ahead, with Aryna Sabalenka beating Naomi Osaka.

The following day, tennis fans in Puerto Rico got to enjoy some exhibition tennis as well. The exhibition was called "Battle of Legends," and it was organized by former WTA player Monica Puig.

Alcaraz and Tiafoe took to the court, and they both had big smiles on their faces. Only a few rallies into the match, it became obvious that fans in Puerto Rico would enjoy a show, as both were able to produce some great shots.

The Spaniard started by holding his serve, and in a few games, he broke his opponent's serve to lead 4-2 in the opening set of the match. It was a perfect start to the match for the four-time Grand Slam winner.

The two continued producing one spectacular rally after another. Down 2-4, Tiafoe was able to put together a few good points, and helped by the net cord on a break point, he broke back and later made it 4-4.

But it was Alcaraz who dominated in the remainder of the set. The 21-year-old Spaniard even implemented some serve and volley into his game, and after some spectacular returns on Tiafoe's serve, he broke again to win the first set of the match 6-4.

However, Tiafoe didn't just come to have fun. He came to play. He was the only player who managed to break in the second set, and not once, but twice. The American won the set 6-3, sending the match into the decider.

While there is only a super tie-break played at many exhibitions as the third set, that wasn't the case at the 2025 Battle of Legends. The two showmen fought it out in a proper set of play.

Alcaraz broke Tiafoe's serve already in the first game of the third set, and both players were able to hold their serve after that. That was until the moment when the American player was down 3-5.

Tiafoe faced some more break points, and feeling the pressure, he double-faulted on the match point. That meant Alcaraz won the match 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, winning the 2025 Battle of Legends exhibition in Puerto Rico.
