"We are very happy and everyone is very well" - Rafael Nadal provides update after becoming a father

According to reports from Spanish media, Rafael Nadal became a father for the first time on October 8th as his wife gave birth to a son.

Nadal chose to savour the occasion rather than offer any form of confirmation that he had actually become a father, as it had been a concern for him during his time in New York.

A difficult pregnancy that, happily, ended with the birth of a healthy baby boy was experienced by his wife, Maria Francisca Perello, who had been admitted to the hospital for some examinations during Nadal's stay in New York. He posted a brief update on social media confirming the birth to thank the fans for their good wishes.

Fans and well-wishers enthusiastically reacted to Nadal's post informing them that the family was obviously joyful and that everyone was in good health.

"Hello everyone. After a few days and many loving messages I just wanted to thank you all. We are very happy and everyone is very well! A big hug" wrote Nadal in Spanish on Twitter.
