Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa are the most followed couple in the tennis world and it shows every day.
Ahead of the 2023 Wimbledon, the two had very different preparations. While the Greek No. 1 on the ATP Tour was able to play multiple matches, the Spanish No. 1 on the WTA Tour struggled with injuries and prepared without any competitive action.
The two travelled together, covering quite some part of the map. They spent some time in Dubai, before moving to Mallorca, and eventually travelling also to London. That's where the third Grand Slam of the season will be played, and as of now, both are scheduled to compete.
However, in Badosa's case that may not happen, even though Tsitsipas backs her to play thanks to her determination. While the Spaniard has been sidelined, she followed her boyfriend's footsteps, and one of the events where he appeared was the 2023 Boodles Challenge.
After having a really bad grass-court preparation, the Greek elected to compete at one more event, this time of an exhibition nature as he travelled to the prestigious exhibition event, similar to where also Novak Djokovic played this year, as the Serb competed at the 2023 Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic at the Hurlingham Tennis Club.
In his first match, Tsitsipas was able to outplay Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, but it was the post-match on-court interview that stole the show when he hugged the interviewer and took care of a few very cute moments.
His second match at the event was less successful, losing to Dusan Lajovic 4-6, 7-6(3), 7-10, but the 24-year-old's mood after the match didn't change. This time, he was asked about his girlfriend Badosa, and the Greek was in a joking mood. When asked about Badosa, he jokingly said she left him, before also saying that she's really 'the one and only'.
