Hubert Hurkacz fell over his chair trying to get to a ball at the 2024 Dubai Championships, but luckily, he was fine and continued the match.

The Polish player made it to the quarterfinals of the ATP 1000 tournament in Dubai, where he had to battle against Ugo Humbert, who was quite inspired in their match.

It was the second set tie-break, and it was 1-1 on the score table. Humbert played a ball over the net, and Hurkacz ran full steam ahead, trying to catch it and win the crucial point.

He wouldn't be able to get it, but he also couldn't really stop himself immediately. Inertia carried him forward, so he kind of awkwardly landed on his chair and tumbled across it.

For a moment, it looked very dangerous because of the fall, and the whole situation was quite uncontrolled, considering the Polish player was mainly trying to get a tennis ball across the court, not considering what would happen afterward.

In any case, many were concerned whether Hurkacz was fine, but he immediately gave a thumbs up to let the fans know that he was good to go. Humbert showed tremendous sportsmanship by going to Hurkacz and checking whether he was truly fine, which was great to see.

The Frenchman is known as a consummate professional, and he showed it once more. Hurkacz's play kind of dipped after that tumble as he lost both the second set tiebreak and the next set.

It's impossible to say if the tumble had anything to do with that, but it's clear no great damage was done. Ultimately, though, it was the French player who was happier after their match, winning 3-6, 7-6(8), 6-3.

His semifinal opponent will be Daniil Medvedev, while the Polish player will shift focus to the Sunshine Double.
