Tiafoe Parts Ways With Coach Moyano After Unsuccessful Period

Frances Tiafoe has parted ways with coach Diego Moyano after an unsuccessful period for the American, which has been going on for a while.

Tiafoe has been playing tennis below his level for a while now. The American was unable to find what he found at the US Open in 2022. That was a run for the ages when he nearly made the final, but since then, he's been playing on a level that's not been close.

Last year's US Open run ended on Ben Shelton's racket, and he's dropped off even lower after that loss. His most recent run was at the Houston Open, where he actually made the final but lost to Ben Shelton once more.

After that most recent loss, Tiafoe parted ways with coach Diego Moyano, who had been with him for a while, after the American parted ways with Wayne Ferreira as well.

It was under Ferreira that Tiafoe played his best tennis, but he ended up with Moyano after their split. Moyano shared the news of their split on social media by posting a message on Instagram.

"Tiafoe and I have decided to part ways. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have coached such a talented player and even more better person. I have no doubt that you’ll continue to shine in your tennis career, and I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way."

"Thank you for trusting me to be a part of your journey. Wishing you nothing but the best in all your future endeavors."

Tiafoe didn't travel to Monaco for the Monte-Carlo Masters, and he will now be looking to find a coach who will lead him to further success in his tennis career. Obviously, the hard-court part of the season will be the most important for him, but he can perform well on clay too.
