Goran Ivanisevic, back in Croatia getting ready for the Umag Open, gave his an honest assessment of some of the ATP's recent decisions.
The Croatian legend took his chance to blast the governing body of men's tennis, expressing his feelings on their dealings of several situations from this season's Australian Open right up until Wimbledon.
With a focus on his player Novak Djokovic, it was clear that Ivanisevic was not going to bite his tongue when offered the chance to speak on the matter.
He took the chance to say the following, starting with how the ATP dealt with the situation in Australia:
"It was a difficult and sad year, which began with the catastrophe in Australia. I also think that the ATP's decision not to concede points in the last Wimbledon is totally wrong and indeed ridiculous."
Having lost all his points from last year's Wimbledon victory, despite defending his title this season, the Serb will now fall to number seven in the world rankings.
This, together with the fact he is unable to enter North America due to restrictions, means that 'Nole' is almost certain to drop outside of the top 10 - a disaster for the Serb.
In the eyes of Ivanisevic, this is poor management on the part of the ATP. However, seeing the positives of the career he has had, the Croatian went on to say the following:
"I never imagined that I would have won more Grand Slam titles as a coach than as a tennis player. Also, I believe Djokovic will win more Grand Slam titles. His goal is to play and win, but it is essential that he is allowed to compete."
