Rafael Nadal is set for a trip to Chile later this year in November to face Chilean Alejandro Tabilo in an exhibition match.

Nadal has always been a player not opposed to playing exhibition matches, as he has taken part in a few of those over the years. His collaboration with Roger Federer for charity has been widely noted, even though he’s always been quite open to playing with other players as well.

It doesn’t matter if the player is technically not considered among the best in the world. Tabilo is certainly not close to the Top 10, being currently ranked 68th in the world, but it didn’t matter to Nadal.

He still signed up to play against him in an exhibition match later this year in Chile. The event will be sponsored by the Fashion Museum Foundation and will be part of a larger South American tour for Nadal.

Some reports indicate that Nadal plans to travel to most of the South American countries, as it likely spells the final time he might do that.

It seems rather unlikely that Nadal will be signing up for the Golden Slam swing anytime soon, and with his schedule looking smaller every year, it might just be him opting to give his fans from the region one last shot at seeing him play tennis.

The exact date of this exhibition match against Tabilo is not known yet, but reports indicate it will be held in the final weeks of November.

If the Spanish legend ends up playing in Chile, it would be the first time since 2016 that Nadal would be back in South America and the first time since 2013 that he would return to Chile. He lost to Horacio Zeballos in the Vina Del Mar final in 2013.
