We may be three months away from Roland Garros, but in the modern world of social media, an outfit reveal is the worst-kept secret.
Novak Djokovic's reported kit for this year's clay Slam has hit the internet, with the Serb's clothing sponsor Lacoste retaining the peach color from last year's top and adding maroon on the side seams.
The front side of the polo is cleaved with a white line, with the top part seemingly in peach and the bottom part in red, marrying the color of the Roland Garros court. Djokovic is also pictured wearing a red and white wristband and maroon shorts.
Details of Djokovic's choice of shoes did not come to light. It is an interesting choice of colors and design, but tennis fans on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) shared mixed reactions to the outfit, with the majority of them clearly not fond of it.
"The side maroon patches are a little weird," one user wrote. Another called the color combination "boring," saying, "That's not gonna look great on the clay when watching on TV. That outfit will blend with the color of the clay. Also, the patches are completely unnecessary. Bit boring as well."
One fan opined that Djokovic's blue outfits, which he normally wears at the Australian Open and US Open, are the perfect match. The tweet read, "This color for RG makes him looks old. Novak in blue I think always the best for him."
Djokovic has won Roland Garros three times in his career and is the defending men's champion. He defeated Casper Ruud in last year's final to become the first man to win each of the four Grand Slams on three occasions.
However, he doesn't consider himself the favorite at the 2024 edition, especially with 14-time champion Rafael Nadal expected to return to his hallowed turf, stating that the Spaniard will be the favorite if he is healthy enough to compete.
