Nick Kyrgios loves to play in front of the home crowd in Australia and he will have a chance to do so at the inaugural United Cup that will take place in three Australian cities.

From December 29th until January 8th, some of the best players in the world will compete in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney in a mixed competition called the United Cup that will offer up to 500 ATP & WTA Rankings points and $15 million in prize money. The first 16 countries participating at this event were announced and one of them is also Australia, led by its singles and doubles ATP no. 1 Nick Kyrgios.

The 27-years-old Australian will be joined by compatriots Alex de Minaur, Jason Kubler and John Peers from the ATP Tour. Ajla Tomljanovic will lead the representation of players from the WTA Tour. She will be joined by Zoe Hives, Maddison Inglis and Samantha Stosur.

The new event should bring in a lot of excitement to tennis fans all over the world and that's also something that the tournament director of the United Cup expects as he said:

“The playing group is very excited about the United Cup, and that’s confirmed in the high quality and calibre of those who’ve committed to the event. We are delighted with the depth and breadth of the teams, and we can look forward to many exciting match ups and lots of entertaining tennis,” United Cup Tournament Director Stephen Farrow said.

“The United Cup also marks the return of international tennis to Brisbane and Perth and we know the fans can’t wait to soak up all the action. All three cities will relish the opportunity to see the world’s best players unite and compete side by side as we launch the tennis season globally here in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney.”
