Nadal Sheds Light On His Schedule After Indian Wells Open

Rafael Nadal returned to the tennis courts at the 2024 Netflix Slam in Las Vegas, and he also knows where he'll play after that.

The Spaniard s currently in the United States, where e played the Netflix Slam, in which he lost a close match to Carlos Alcaraz. After that exhibition against fellow Spaniard, Nadal will play at the Indian Wells Open.

That means he plans to play at the ATP Masters 100 tournament, but ultimately, whether he will play will depend on his health. In an interview with Marca in Las Vegas, Nadal admitted that his preparation hasn't been that great lately so there is a lot unknowns.

In the same interview with, Nadal also shared his plans beyond that event and it doesn't include the Miami Open.

"At the moment, I am considering playing in Indian Wells. I would love to play in Monte Carlo. And then, at this point in my career, I have to analyze how I am at each moment, the feelings I have and where I most want to play. I will try to do which is better to reach my goals with some option. I want to do the things that I really want to be happy."

We've obviously known that Nadal would skip the Miami Open as he wasn't on the entry list, and we actually looked over some of the reasons why he skipped it. As he pointed out in his interview, it's more a scheduling decision than anything else.

He needs to be smart with his schedule because he can't play a full schedule anymore, especially not so early into his comeback. Obviously, his health will determine where exactly he plays, but for now, the Monte-Carlo Masters seems to be the first clay-court tournament planned.

Tournaments like Roland Garros and the Olympic Games are obviously given but the rest is up in the air, but it can be expected that the 37-year-old will make his way to Madrid and Barcelona, which he has played and won multiple times in his career.
